Like, where's the end of this? What is the point at which it's over? And we're like, okay, we've reached every genre. Battle royale's dead. And the kind of end of it was Tetris and an old school platformer. And then, as we started joking around about it, Tetris 99 came out. We were like, 'Wow, they really did it. That was the craziest part. It was fucking good! From there, Glunt worked on the game with an idea of having something 2D with the battle royale constraints of a closing ring.

This also led to looking at how to make the game easily playable and able to fit into the lives of its players. Explaining what drew him to the game, Arin Hanson from Game Grumps said, "I thought the concept was brilliant, and yeah, just working with the team and sort of figuring out the narrative [and] lore behind Soviet Jump Game It was a super fun concept.

Then as the game was getting developed, the game itself is just so much fun. And it was so nice seeing all the new additions every time. It was like, 'Ah, sick! Because they were literally making updates -- at some point it was like every day there was updates. But through building and testing, we realized let's just have the player hold it and when a projectile hits them, it'll just auto-swing the bat to give them one free [protection]. Batha and Glunt then noted that, while the formidable duck egg power-up had not changed much since the beginning, Fantastic Passion did make it harder in terms of timing to keep people from staying in the air for too long.
